EVENT INFORMATION

    -Dance studios may apply their own administrative fees.

    -FALL 2024: All ages for the convention are as of January 1, 2024.

    -SPRING 2025: All ages for the convention are as of January 1, 2025.

    -All age levels are a guidance to ensure every dancer can maximize their experience at REINFORCE. Wristbands will be given to each convention participant that reflects their room assignment. Wristbands must be worn during the entirety of the event. Studio Owners/Teachers may move their dancers to different rooms for the convention that does not reflect their current age.

    -Registration opens March 4, 2024. All registrations must be done through our registration portal.

    -Dancers are issued audition numbers at REINFORCE.

    -All event schedules/welcome packets will be sent to studio contacts 10 days before each event.

    -When submitting a registration, the studio is stating that during the event, REINFORCE Dance Experience LLC will not be held responsible for any loss of property and/or injury.

    -Dancers registered for the workshop are not required to compete. Dancers competing are required to register for the workshop.

    -Independent registrations are allowed for both workshop and competition.

    -Observers are allowed to purchase an entry wristband for $60 to watch classes for the weekend. Observers must be affiliated with a dancer in the room. Observer bands are available on our registration page or at the event.

    -Registration and payment must be received before the attending event’s close date. Registration will be removed if payment is not received by this date.

    -If registration is received after the discount cutoff date, there will be a $20 late fee applied to each attendee.

    -All payments made after the close date (pre-event or on site) must be done by cash, credit card, cashier’s check or money order.

    -There are no refunds given. Studio credits are available at the discretion of REINFORCE Dance Experience LLC.

  • -Entries must be received 30 days before the event.

    -FALL 2024: All ages for the competition are as of January 1, 2024.

    -SPRING 2025: All ages for the competition are as of January 1, 2025.

    -Ages of all routines with multiple dancers will be determined by adding dancers’ ages together and dividing by the number of dancers in the routine. Decimals are disregarded.

    -There is no limit to the number of routines a studio enters for competition. Dancers may compete more than one solo and more than one group routine.

    -You may purchase up to 3 min additional time for groups, lines, and productions. A fee of $5/dancer per minute will be added to extended timed routines. Please contact our office for this adjustment. A 5 point deduction will be enforced to all routines that go beyond the time limits.

    -Style Categories are:

    Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Tap, Hip-Hop, Ballroom, Musical Theater, and Open (any style that does not properly fit into the other categories). Judges may move dances to a different style category if they feel it is necessary.

    -Adjudication Only: routines have the option to enter a routine for adjudication only which means they will only receive critiques + an overall score and are not eligible for any other awards.

    -Judging Criteria:

    Technique- 40 points; Overall Impact- 30 points; Stage Presence- 20 points; Execution- 10 points

    -There will be 3 judges and 1 studio owner/teacher judge. The studio owner/teacher judge will give separate critiques for only the ears of the studio owner/teacher consisting of choreography, staging, age appropriateness, and costume.

    -If there is a tie in score, the technique score will be used to determine the overall placement.

    -Stage will be 30ft x 40ft with small wings on each side. There will be a backstage area for dancers and crossover behind the stage. The backstage is reserved for only dancers/teachers/studio owners with upcoming routines.

    -Props are allowed for competition. Studios have 2 min to take on props and 2 min to take off props. If time exceeds this a 5 point deduction will be made. REINFORCE cannot guarantee props taller than 8ft will be allowed through the doors of the event space. For any large prop inquiries please contact our office 2 weeks prior to the event.

    -We ask that all music is uploaded by Wednesday prior to the event. All music is uploaded on your registration portal in MP4 or MP3. Please have back ups available for each routine.

    -VIP Seating is available for Studio Owners/Teachers.

    -Competition is open to friends/family of the dancers. There is no charge for competition general seating.

    -Dancers must be registered for the workshop in order to compete. Dancers may only register under one studio.

    -Studio Owners/Teachers are not allowed to compete.

    -If a judge choreographed a routine, they will only be allowed to give audio critique and a score will be given by the backstage team for them.

    -Talking, lip-synching, and singing is acceptable. Microphones are not allowed.

    -Competition schedule may go out of order.

    -There will be dressing rooms at the event. No photography/videotaping is allowed in the dressing rooms. Dancers are not allowed to rehearse in the dressing rooms. Any misconduct in the dressing room will result in disqualification from the competition…REINFORCE does not take this lightly.

    -Photo/Video during the event is prohibited. Please respect all dancers’ privacy. There will be professional photo/video of each routine available for purchase at and after the event.

  • -STUDIO OWNERS are able to attend free of charge at our events! Please note this when registering online.

    -*TEACHERS: For every 10 students registered for the workshop, 1 teacher can attend for free.

    -A studio owner/teacher room with unlimited coffee, water, and snacks will be available during the entire event.

    -This room will also house a welcome reception/breakfast or lunch for all studio owners/teachers. Please come, grab some food, and meet the REINFORCE Family!

    -We will also host a studio owner/teacher seminar on Sunday with a special guest speaker.

    -In order for REINFORCE to award a Top Overall placement, there must be more than 1 routine in any given category.

    -THE FORCE ROUTINE AWARD: The highest scoring routine from each studio will be awarded and asked to perform again on Sunday after classes at the THE FORCE SHOWCASE. (not including solos)

    -THE HIGHEST SCORING ROUTINE AWARD: Awarded after THE FORCE SHOWCASE with a cash prize. (not including solos)

    -JUDGES PICK AWARD: Each judge will choose one routine of the competition block for a special recognition.

    -STUDIO STYLE AWARD: The studio who displays the most versatility in their routines will be awarded this award.

    -STUDIO SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD: This award(s) will be awarded to the studio(s) showing exemplary sportsmanship off stage.

What to expect at our events…

Class Styles

Each workshop room will offer the following classes at our events...

→Classes such as Contemporary, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Tap, Ballroom, Lyrical, Seminars, and more.

→an Improvisation class where all dancers will be able to practice the art of movement invention and expand upon their unique styles.

→an Audition, where the directors will audition dancers and dancers will learn audition techniques.

The FORCE Showcase

After the final day of classes, REINFORCE will present the TAKE CHARGE Closing Event where we will recap the weekend with reflections, achievements, and present the FORCE Showcase.

The FORCE Showcase will be composed of the top routines of each studio from competition. These routines will be asked to perform again.

Studio Owner/Teacher Judge

During competition, each routine will be adjudicated by three judges as well as a fourth judge for the studio owners/teachers only.

This fourth judge will provide dedicated feedback to the studio owner/teacher of the routine that deals with choreography, staging, costume, age appropriateness, etc.

The other three judges will judge the dance based off our 4 scoring components: Technique, Overall Impact, Stage Presence, & Execution. REINFORCE will not allow these three judges to comment on anything outside of the dancer’s control.

Scholarships

The following scholarships will be awarded at each event.

The Leading Force of the Weekend: Dancers who receive this will receive a full scholarship AND ASSIST all of next season’s events.

The Forces of the Weekend: Dancers who receive this will receive a credit for next season’s events.

Faculty Scholarships: Each faculty member will award dancers who stood out in their individual classes.

Agency Audition Scholarship: Dancers who receive this will be able to attend a private audition for a dance agency in Los Angeles.

Other scholarships to various events, programs, and opportunities will also be awarded.

Studio Owner/Teacher Room

A studio owner/teacher room to reset, relax, and recharge with seminars and treats to enjoy.
